Dear Pastors, Brother Priests, Sister and Parishioners,

As many of you are now aware, Archbishop Gerard Pettipas was admitted to the Grande Prairie Hospital this past Friday the 23rd.  The diagnosis is still uncertain and tests continue to be conducted.  What we can share with you at this time is that he has loss strength in his legs and appears to be dealing with side-effects of some medications.  Until the medical professionals can identify a cause and diagnosis, we cannot speculate.  We can be sure that Archbishop Pettipas will be in the hospital for a few more days.  What he needs at this time is rest to recuperate and our prayer.  The Chancery staff will keep you informed as well as possible as information is communicated to us.

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your servant and bishop, Archbishop Pettipas, and give your power of healing to those who minister to his needs, that he may be strengthened in his weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Confident in Christ our Lord,

Msgr Charles Lavoie PH
Vicar General/Chancellor
