The annual Chrism Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 31 at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in McLennan at 7:30 pm. The cathedral is the Mother Church of the diocese, where the chair (cathedra) of the bishop is located.

At this special liturgy, the clergy will renew their promise of fidelity and obedience, and their commitment of service and ministry to the archbishop and to the people of God. The oils used in the Sacramental life of the Church will be blessed – the Oil of Catechumens used in baptism; the Oil of the Sick to strengthen, heal and console the sick and dying; and the consecration of Chrism, used in the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Holy Orders, as well as in the consecration of altars and churches.

Mass begins at 7:30 pm and all are invited to join for food and fellowship in the cathedral hall afterwards. Parishioners from throughout the archdiocese are encouraged to gather for this special liturgy!
