It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fr. Julien Benedict Mary, who passed away on Saturday, November 29th while staying at Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.
The funeral Mass for Fr. Julian Benedict Mary will be celebrated on Monday, December 8th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie. There will be a viewing held in the Tranquille Hall, beginning at 12:30 pm, followed by a Requiem Mass at 2:00 pm. A livestream will also be made available on the archdiocese’s Facebook page. All clergy and parishioners of the archdiocese are invited to attend.
Fr. Julian recently celebrated his 79th birthday on November 20th. He was ordained a priest on May 29th, 1974 and he has served in the Archdiocese of Grouard-McLennan for many years, as a pastor and a retired priest. He recently returned from a vacation to his home country of India, where he had the occasion to visit all of his siblings.
We pray for Fr. Julien, that he be welcomed into the arms of the God he served, and for his family and friends, that they will be consoled at this time.
Father Julien for whom we pray, your servant and Priest, devoted a faithful ministry to your name. May he rejoice in the perpetual company of your Saints. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Eternal rest grant unto Fr. Julien, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
