We pray for the repose of the soul of Rev. Fr. Albert Sterzer, C.Ss.R, who served in the archdiocese for many years. Please keep Fr. Albert, his family and relatives, his friends, his confrères and the local Redemptorist community in your prayers at this time.

From the Redemptorist Province of Canada: “It is with deep sorrow that the Canadian Province of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) announces the passing of our beloved brother, Rev. Fr. Albert Vincent Sterzer, C.Ss.R., most recently affiliated with the St. Joseph’s Community in Grande Prairie, Alberta, on January 21, 2026. He was 89 years old and had been a professed member of the Congregation for 69 years. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 23, 1963.”

Fr. Albert’s funeral was held at St. Joseph Church in Grande Prairie on Tuesday, January 27th. Prayers start at 9:30 am, followed by the funeral Mass at 11:00 am. The internment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Edmonton, Alberta on January 28th.
