Priests and parishioners come together for Chrism Mass in McLennan

Here are some photos from our Chrism Mass in McLennan, celebrated the evening of April 15th.

Archbishop Gerard Pettipas, Archbishop-designate Charles Duval, priests and religious, and parishioners from across the archdiocese joined us at the St. John the Baptist Cathedral. At this special liturgy, the clergy renewed their commitment of service and ministry to the people of God in our diocese. Then the oils used in the Sacramental life of the church were blessed – the Oil of Catechumens used in baptism; Oil of the Sick to strengthen, heal and console the sick and the dying; and the consecration of Chrism, used in the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Holy Orders, and in the dedication and consecration of churches and altars.

Beforehand, our priests had a day of retreat and discussion, including praying Stations of the Cross together. See some photos from the celebration below.

We hope you all have a blessed Holy Week and Easter Triduum!
